Trail Riding
On January 19, 2008 there will be a N.A.T.R.C. (North American Trail Ride Conference) sanctioned competitive trail ride Clinic at Estrella Mountain Regional Park in West Phoenix.
This clinic will start at 8:00 sharp and will cover the different aspects of Competitive Trail Riding. The morning session will include information on trailer safety (including advise to help you with your trailer), trail equitation, in hand presentations, how to take pulse and respirations, and what horsemanship and veterinary judges look for when you are on a competitive trail ride. During lunch we will have a helmet discussion and a question & answer session. After lunch we will have a short trail ride, with judged obstacles and a pulse and respiration check. We should be done between 3:00 and 4:00 pm.
Bring your sense of humor! We will have a blast!
The cost for the clinic: Riders $50.00 and Auditors $30.00 and the admission fee to the park of $6. per vehicle. We will accept 35 entries for riders and unlimited auditor entries. Auditors will be able to observe various obstacles on the trail, which will aid in their practice at home.
Riders will receive a coupon good for $20 off the cost of the Entry Fee at the Wickenburg Desert Forest Competitive Trail Ride on March 14-16, 2008 and auditors will receive a discount of $10.
Trails will be a combination of sandy washes, rocky trails and the winding desert terrain. "Come Ride With Us!" and enjoy a fun and challenging day for both horse and rider. This is a great family event!
