Dear Friend of the Kentucky Horse Park:

Are you looking for a way to get yourself and your family in the holiday spirit? We hope you will schedule a trip to Southern Lights: Spectacular Sights on Holiday Nights festival, Nov 16-Dec 31 at the KHP, where you are certain to be delighted by the beautiful light displays.

Literally thousands of twinkling lights are displayed along three miles of our park, making Southern Lights one of Kentucky’s premier winter attractions. The KHP Foundation, which works so hard to improve the park’s beauty and functionality, will be the beneficiary of Southern Lights.

Entertainment during Southern Lights will include a petting zoo, model trains, Mini-Express Train, Santa Claus, the International Museum of the Horse, KHP Gift Shop, area performers, interactive children’s display from Explorium, miniature dollhouses display, holiday refreshments and special guests.
And we hope you will consider Southern Lights for your “one stop holiday shopping.” You’ll be able to purchase gifts for your friends and family members, while enjoying the sights, sounds, scents, tastes, nostalgia and excitement of the terrific Southern Lights festival.
The Kentucky Horse Park is taking the Season of Giving very seriously as we strive to

contribute to the welfare of our fellow Kentuckians and horses. I’d like to encourage you to support the park and our charitable efforts this holiday season by taking your family and friends to enjoy Southern Lights.
Our Southern Lights Stroll and 5K Walk/Run Nov 15 through the park will collect food items for God’s Pantry from participants. On Dec 7-8 we’ll have a few adoptable pets from the Forever Home Rescue and Sanctuary to celebrate Furry Friends Weekend at Southern Lights. Parents whose children have their photos taken with Santa during Southern Lights will be helping the Lexington Rotary Club raise money to purchase winter clothes for the less fortunate.
Southern Lights: Spectacular Sights on Holiday Nights is made possible through the generous support of sponsors National City and Kerr Brothers. I want to thank them for their outstanding support of Southern Lights and the park!
Sincerely,
John Nicholson
Executive Director

At the KHP, we are thankful for our park and the easy way the land lays, our beautiful horses and
the peace that washes our souls when we watch them graze, our old trees that have stood sentinel over the changes of the past century, meadowlarks that sing over us in sunny fields on breezy
days, spring foals that never cease to bring joy to our hearts, our dedicated
staff, talented volunteers, appreciative visitors, loyal supporters and show
managers, inspirational competitors both equine and human, our
friends at the National Horse Center organizations, the
men and women who sacrificially serve in our Armed
Forces and the abundant blessings we enjoy as the
most favored and benevolent country in the history
of the world.
Happy Thanksgiving!
