Eventing
Due to the generous donations from various sponsors and eventing enthusiasts, the USEA was successful in raising over $20,000 to benefit the 2007 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention which was held December 6-9 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Auction items ranged from tack and equipment to supplements and even a stallion breeding. In addition, horse trials from around the country donated entries to their 2008 events.
Thank you to all the wonderful donors who made this online auction possible, especially presenting sponsor Bit of Britain Saddlery, and to everyone who since they couldn’t be out competing at a local horse trials, turned their competitive natures loose on eBay and helped support the USEA’s Convention.
Convention donors included: Auburn Labs, Charles Owen, Dover Saddlery, Dubarry of Ireland, EMCO Stallion Services, English Riding Supply, Equestrian Classics, Equilite, Equinature, Equisure, FITS, Focus on Sport Horses, Freedom Health LLC, Horseware Products Ltd., J. Walker Photography, Kerrits Equestrian Apparel, Leather Therapy, MacKinnon Ice Horse, Mountain Khakis, Mountain Horse, Nunn Finer, Outback Trading Company, Phoenix Performance Products, Platinum Performance, Rebecca Raubacher Gallery/Animals to Wear, SmartPak Equine, The Sport House, SSG Gloves, Stackhouse Saddles, Tally Ho Products, Think Equestrian, Inc., Tropical Rider, and Wellpride.
Additionally, over 35 event entries from all across the country were generously donated by organizers. The entries included the following horse trials: Ethel Walker School, Genessee Valley Riding and Driving Club, Kent School, Millbrook, Mystic Valley Hunt Club, Cosequin Stuart, The Fork, FENCE, Longleaf Pine, Maryland, Pinehurst, Rubicon, Southern Pines, Waredaca, Ocala, Florida, Red Hills, Rocking Horse, Hill’ n Hound, Maui Jim, Greenwood Farm, The Event Derby, Inavale Farm, Rebecca Farm, Midsouth Pony Club, Jump Start, and Arrowhead.
In addition to the on-line auction, a second fundraiser was held at the Convention during the Maui Jim Sunglasses sponsored Awards Dinner and Dance on Saturday night, and proved to be one of the highlights of the evening, with Bit of Britain’s John Nunn getting the crowd revved up as he took over the role of “auctioneer extraordinaire.” Thank you to Fernanda Kellogg of Fitch’s Corner for her generous donation of a Tiffany & Co. necklace and bracelet, and to Holly Matt of Pegasus Design Group for donating a “self-sustaining” doghouse from Sustainable Pet that she had displayed during the weekend in the trade fair.
If you didn’t have a chance to snag any of the incredible items in the auction, look for a new auction this spring. Just log on to www.ebay.com and set up your account so you’re ready to bid on some great products and services as well as help support the USEA’s many programs!
