Rodeo fans voted on www.prorodeo.com and the results are in. Five American Quarter Horses have been selected as fan favorites in the first Fort Dodge Champion American Quarter Horses of the Wrangler NFR contest.
Voting was conducted during the 49th Wrangler National Finals Rodeo held Dec. 6-15 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

The American Quarter Horse Association’s corporate partner Fort Dodge Animal Health awarded $2,500 prize money to each winning horse’s owner and $2,500 to the competitor.
The top vote recipients were:
Steer wrestling – Redigo Roman and Jule Hazen
Team roping (heading) – Lite My Dynamite and Trevor Brazile
Team roping (heeling) – Freckles Taz and Allen Bach
Tie-down roping – Hickoryote Sue and Stran Smith

Cliff and Chad Van Campen own Redigo Roman and will receive a $2,500 check from Fort Dodge Animal Health, and Freckles Taz is owned by Kinney Harrell, who also will receive $2,500. The other winning horses are owned by their riders, and will receive a $5,000 check from Fort Dodge.
