My name is Damon Carson, and I own Kiddie Rides USA – www.kiddieridesusa.com - in Denver, CO. Kiddie Rides USA is the only stand alone kiddie ride company left in America. We sell these kiddie rides to very diverse customers – eg: doctor’s offices, homeowners, corporations for branding purposes, car dealerships, grandparents, collectors, etc.
Often we’re asked to customize our rides by horse aficionados to make them even more of a treasure. Buyers often send us pictures of their favorite horse so we can paint the ride to match. We frequently include a farm / ranch brand on the horses. We’ve included beautiful photographs into a rides. (see picture above - high res images available upon request) A buyer might choose a favorite photo of their farm or ranch. We can also include a work of fine art into a ride. The possibilities are nearly endless!
For over half a century, kiddie rides have captured pop culture in miniature. There have been hundreds, if not thousands, of different kiddie rides molded into all shapes, sizes, and cartoon characters over the years. They are equal parts 60-second amusement ride for kids and nostalgic American icons for adults. When a themed kiddie ride matches a personal passion or a corporate image - bingo! For example, a Ghostbuster memoribilia collector purchased a Ghostbuster ride, a pilot purchased an airplane kiddie ride for his grandchildren, or the man who bought his wife a dolphin kiddie ride because she was crazy about dolphins. With the vast array of rides created over the years, it is surprising just how fitting a ride can be for someone’s specific interest.
At Kiddie Rides USA, we often customize rides to be even more personal. For example, we recently “branded” a horse with a gentleman’s initials – a monogrammed kiddie ride. We’ve painted rides to look exactly like high-priced prized stallions and to make miniature replicas of cherished automobiles and boats. An Oklahoma Sooner fan asked us to make one of our covered wagons into a “Sooner Schooner”. We customized an existing kiddie ride into a garbage truck to sit in the lobby of the new headquarters of Allied Waste in Phoenix, AZ. The possibilities are endless!
Our kiddie rides have been used by Sony Pictures in a Jim Carrey movie. One of our rides served as a “hero” piece for “Astronaut Farmer” starring Billy Bob Thornton. The Comedy Channel used a jet ski ride in the filming of a commercial. We re-crafted a ride for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
