Polo made its inaugural appearance at John Goodman's Wanderers Club, as members and their guests were treated to an private exhibition match christening the field on Thursday afternoon. More than 50 golf carts lined the field to watch the action.
Matt Coppola scored the first goal in club history as International Polo Club went on to defeat Wanderers Club in a shootout. Joining Coppola on the winning team was Martin Pepa, Macelo Castro and Diego Arellano. Playing for Wanderers Club was Grant Mayer, Ricky Bostwick, Francisco Ayala and Randy Aversano.
"It was a lot of fun," said Coppola. "The field was fast."
Players, members and guests enjoyed a relaxing post-match reception poolside, featuring martinis, margaritas and delicious hors d'ouevres.
