Horse Racing
The 42nd running of the High Hope Steeplechase will take place on Sunday, May 18 at the KHP. Gates open at 11 a.m. The High Hope will feature 3 races over brush fences, 1 timber race, an International Amateur Jockey Flat Race, an Obstacle race and for the first time this year “Catch A Riding Star” a flat race over approximately 6 furlongs for the first graduating class from Chris McCarron’s Jockey School run by NARA/KCTCS.
Also featured will be the much anticipated Terrier races, Stick Horse races for children and adults, a clown, bouncy castle and other children’s activities. Some Arts and crafters will be present along with different animal adoption agencies. There is something for all at the High Hope so come and enjoy the fun and get into the spirit of steeplechasing!
The High Hope Steeplechase is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and last year’s beneficiaries were the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, Central Kentucky Riding For Hope, Kentucky Equine Humane Society, Gaits To Growth and Kentucky Horse Park Foundation.
