This summer the picturesque Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington will be hosting the Kentucky Summer Horse Shows. Top hunter/jumper professionals, amateurs, juniors and pony riders from across the country will gather to participate in this exciting event. Fantastic prize money and top-notch facilities are just a few examples of what makes this show one of the best in the nation. The Kentucky Summer Horse Show will be held the week of July 30 - August 3, and the Kentucky Summer Classic is scheduled for the following week, August 6 -10, 2008.

The Kentucky Summer Horse Show offers three highly anticipated classes. The first is the $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic, which will be held on Thursday, July 31. The show will then feature the $40,000 Kentucky Summer Grand Prix on Saturday, August 2, and the $20,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby on Sunday, August 3.

The following week, the Kentucky Summer Classic will showcase the $25,000 Hagyard Lexington Classic on Thursday, August 7, and the $40,000 RV Sales of Broward Kentucky Classic Grand Prix on Saturday, August 9. The Hagyard Lexington Classics are part of the Hagyard Challenge Series, which features seven show jumping events and $215,000 in prize money. The rider that accumulates the most money throughout the Hagyard Challenge Series will receive a $50,000 Leading Rider Bonus.

Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, the largest and oldest equine private practice in the world, is thrilled to be the sponsor of this incredible series. "We wanted to showcase Hagyard Equine Medical Institute's commitment to the sport horse community," said Dr. Andy Clark, the CEO of the Hagyard Equine Medial Institute. "This event provides the opportunity for grand prix horses to compete for more prize money."

Clark also feels that the bonus is an exciting addition for riders. "The bonus provides the opportunity and the incentive for riders to enter the Hagyard Challenge Series. This event is an opportunity for the riders to win a significant award," he continued. "The owners and trainers earn awards as well, but this one is for the riders." The prize money has increased this year from $30,000 to $50,000 and will be presented after the $50,000 World Cup qualifying grand prix at the Kentucky National Horse Show on Friday, September 26.

RV Sales of Broward has signed on as the sponsor of this year's $40,000 Kentucky Classic Grand Prix during the Kentucky Summer Classic. RV Sales of Broward CEO and Founder Gigi Stetler is an avid horsewoman herself, and she understands the importance of sponsorship. "'Help Us Help Others' is our motto," explained Stetler. "Sponsoring this event will help others so they can continue to compete. This is an extremely expensive sport and, without sponsorship, the sport will diminish." The $40,000 RV Sales of Broward Kentucky Classic Grand Prix, a member event of the AGA Grand Prix Series, will be held on Saturday, August 9.

The $50,000 Leading Rider Bonus is made possible through the gracious efforts of Griffin Gate Marriot Resort & Spa; Turf Town Properties, Inc.; Hagyard Pharmacy; Kathleen Sullivan, CIMA(R); Fifth Third Bank; Dean, Dorton & Ford; Butler Animal Health Supply - Equine Division; Fort Dodge Animal Health; and Porsche of Lexington.
