The winning streak continued for the Aiken, S.C.-based Tokaruk Show Stables as horses and riders finished up week III in the rocky mountains at the Colorado Summer Classic.
Michael Tokaruk once again guided his horse Surreal to the Tricolors in the Baby Green Hunters. The third consecutive win earned Surreal the ultimate title of Circuit Champion.
Tokaruk also piloted Polaris, owned by Lindsay Strafuss, to 2nd place overall in the two-day $15,000 USHJA High Performance Hunter Derby, part of the exciting ongoing USHJA series.
Strafuss herself earned 4th place in ASPCA Maclay class with Polaris and concluded her successful three-week run in Parker by earning a second consecutive Reserve Champion title in the Large Junior Hunters (16-17) with her horse Jet Set.
Earlier in the series, Strafuss and Polaris were the winners of the USEF Horsemanship Medal.
In the Jumper arenas, Jaclyn Ruocco and Lemon Drop captured 5th place in the Adult Jumper Classic, while Luke Tokaruk, at the controls on Lucius 35, was 12th in the $60,000 AGA Grand Prix of Denver.
Luke and Lucius led had the victory gallop at the $25,000 High Prairie Grand Prix during week I of competition. It was a first career GP win for Tokaruk.
Luke and Ruocco meanwhile (aboard Casanova and Lemon Drop, respectively), teamed up to win the $5,000 Take Your Own Line class.
“We’ve had a terrific time,” said Michael Tokaruk of the three-week competition. “It’s our first time showing here in Colorado and the horse park has been just wonderful. Luke and I are very proud of everyone’s success, and we’re looking forward to keeping that momentum going.”
