SBS Farms, Inc. had yet another fantastic show last week. NY Horse and Pony Show ran August 6-10, 2008. Not only were they extremely successful at the show, but the SBS team also earned many summer circuit championships at the HITS show series.
The SBS Farms team ended the summer circuit with more than just a handful of championships. Their exceptional riding landed them with five summer circuit championships. The Specialist was First Year Green Working Hunter Champion of the summer circuit. South Beach came away with Summer Circuit Championship in the Pre-Green Hunters. Gathering success as Summer Circuit Champion in the Green Conformation Hunters was Sting. Regular Working Hunter Champion of the Summer Circuit was Rock Star. Wrapping things up with a Summer Circuit Championship in the Children's Hunter Horse 14 and Under was Point Taken.
The talented Kaley Kawaii won a Maiden Equitation class on her horse, Thief of Hearts. In addition to her fantastic performance, so also was sixth in another Maiden Equitation. To top off a successful week of riding, they were Maiden Equitation Reserve Champion.
"We had a great week. It was nice for Kaley Kawaii to win the Maiden Equitation class. It was her first big win at a big show; it was exciting," said Susie Schoellkopf, trainer and owner at SBS Farms.
Meredith Lipke Bartolone was a star in the Adult Equitation 46 and Over, earning championship status on her horse The Specialist. The pair picked up a first and second-place ribbon. They also competed in the Amateur Owner Hunter 36 and Over division and received three thirds, fifth and sixth-place ribbons.

Trainer/Rider Jennifer Alfano was reserve champion aboard The Specialist in the First Year Working Hunter. Alfano rode The Specialist to a first, three seconds and seventh-place ribbons.
"We are very excited about Meredith Bartolone's The Specialist, the young horse we bought for her. That has really been a fun match and fun to see them come along," said Schoellkopf. "Of course, Meredith also has her veteran horse, Once and Again, so I think it is fun because we get to see The Specialist with both her and Jen."
Alfano had three excellent rides in the $10,000 USHJA Hunter Derby Classic. In the first round of this competitive class, she put forth a first-place round on Sting, owned by Helen Lenehan. She was a close second on Rock Star and tenth on Jersey Boy. Into the second round, Alfano was fourth on Jersey Boy, tenth on Rock Star and eleventh on Sting. In the overall standings of the class, Alfano ended up fifth on Jersey Boy, tenth on Rock Star and eleventh on Sting.
A Bright Star 158 LLC horse, Kid Rock, rocked the Low Hunters. As champion of the division, he was ridden by Alfano. They came away with four firsts and a second-place ribbon.
Extraordinary, owned by Helen Lenehan, and ridden by Alfano, won a Pre-Green Hunter class. Not far behind in any of the other classes in the division, they also accepted awards of third and fourth-place ribbons.
Champions in the Adult Jumpers High 18-30 Level 3 were Megan Massaro and SBS Farms, Inc's. horse, Only Jumping Boy. They competed in a very tough and large division.
