To All You Reining Enthusiasts
The Arabian-Half-Arabian Futurity Reining Classic will be held during the Scottsdale Auction Show, February 16 – 22, 2009. $150,000 in prize money will be paid out to the two classes: $94,000 for Half-Arabian, $56,000 for Purebred Arabian.
The futurity committee – Tom Redmond, Dick Ames, Joe Betten – Show Manager Phyllis LaMalfa – and the entire ARHA board invite you to attend this annual event and join in the fun.
The futurity classes will be a 3 go event, with finals for the purebred class Saturday, February 21, the Half-Arabian class Sunday, February 22. All goes will be held at Ring 5.
Pick up the ARHA reining program, available at the ARHA office and Ring 5. The program will give all the reining information – entries, patterns and the various programs.
In addition to the futurity there will be the Reining Stallion Silent Service Auction, Prospect Sale Horse listing and Draw Party.
• Breedings to well known Quarter and Arabian reining stallions have been donated, with proceeds going toward the operation of the futurity. Sign up will be in the ARHA office.
• The Prospect Sale Horse Listing is a venue to help prospective buyers and sellers to get together. Details and location of said horse will be available in the ARHA office.
• And for fun, the Draw Party will be held Thursday, February 19, at Bretts Barn.
• Draw order for the final go of each class will be held. Cocktails at 5:30 and Mexican dinner at 6:30. Tickets at the door or ARHA office are $15.
And during the cocktail hour, browse the silent auction. Items will include two first edition books by noted historian Mari Sandoz, The Cattlemen and The Horse Catcher. Both books autographed, have book jackets and are presented in mint condition; a special collection of antique western items; Yucca Flat Saddle Pad; Sterling silver western themed jewelry. All monies will go to the futurity.

Champion saddles for the futurity winners are provided by Dale Chavez, Eleanor’s Arabian Farm and Nymeyer’s Tack. Kyle Tack and Bobs Saddles are sponsors of the Reserve Champion saddles.
