Trainer BowlResults are in and gohorseshow.com reports that trainer Jason Martin successfully raised $12,826 to donate directly to the American Paint Horse Foundation Lynn Simons Memorial Scholarship Fund as part of gohorseshow.com's 2008 Trainer Bowl.

Martin, along with trainer Steve Heckaman, was selected as a finalist in the competition. March madness
Spring break comes early this year when you pack your bags and head to the 8th Annual Tulsa March Mania Paint Horse Show, held March 5–9 at the Tulsa Expo in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Prep your Paint for the sweet 16 in one of the many warm-up arenas before showing in front of four judges—10 total at the show—in the Ford Truck Arena or the Mustang Arena. At the end of the day, leave your final four contestant in one of more than 750 stalls. Special events include National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA) and World Conformation Horse Association (WCHA) classes, an extreme halter and pleasure competition for the Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraiser, an exhibitor party and a Youth fun class. You can also sign up to compete in the Pro and Non-Pro trail classes, as well as the Amateur Trail Gamble.

Didn't get that TV you wanted for Christmas? You'll have a shot at winning one—a 40-inch plasma HDTV, to be exact—as one is awarded to the highest overall Amateur. What about a saddle for the kids? The highest-placing Youth in Senior Hunter Under Saddle will win a Pessoa English saddle. Western work saddles will be awarded in other classes as well. Additional prizes include cash in NSBA and WCHA classes, grand and reserve halter awards in Amateur and Open events, class champion jackets and division high-point awards.

If that's not convincing enough, log on to tulsamarchmania.com or contact Karen Kennedy by e-mail or call (479) 648-3116.

It is easy to see that the 2009 show season is off to a good start! There are 102 upcoming shows and events listed in the February issue of the Paint Horse Journal—too many to list in this e-news. For the complete listings, searchable by month, zone or state/province, click here.

It also criminalizes the purchase, sale, delivery, or export of horsemeat intended for human consumption. For more information, visit thehorse.com.

New Restrictions for equine imports into Canada from the United States
