Freedom Farm will host New Jersey’s only ESDCTA recognized dressage show that will award cash prizes in every category, on Wednesday, July 15th. This will be the 3rd year that Freedom Farm will open its doors to dressage enthusiasts from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. 50% of the entry fee money will go towards cash prizes through 3rd place in each class except golden oldies where there will be non-cash prizes and ribbons, through 6th.place. Competitors will ride two tests and the competitor’s scores will be averaged to determine the winners.

“Given the current state of the economy, it’s important that we stay focused on this discipline and continue to offer the equestrian community an incentive to compete, to stay in the equine industry and to enjoy the sport,” said Pete D’Costa, Freedom Farm’s owner. As background, dressage is a path and destination of competitive horse training, with competitions held at all levels from amateur to the Olympics. Its fundamental purpose is to develop, through standardized proagressive training methods, a horse's natural athletic ability and willingness to perform, thereby maximizing its potential as a riding horse. At the peak of a dressage horse's gymnastic development, it can smoothly respond to a skilled rider's minimal aids by performing the requested movement while remaining relaxed and appearing effortless

Dressage Classes consist of two tests per class as follows:

1. USDF Tests 1 and 2
2. Training Level Tests 1 and 2
3. Training Level Tests 3 and 4
4. First Level Tests 1 and 2
5. First Level Test 3 and 4
6. Second Level Test of Choice (Select 2 Tests)
7. Third and Fourth Level Test of Choice (Select 2 Tests)
8. Golden Oldies Class for horses 18 years of age and older. ONE Test of choice (USDF through Fourth Level)

July 6th is the closing date for registration. FEI Tests will be available by request to the Secretary, Kem Barbosa. Details are as follows:

· Entries: Cost:$44 for two rides.$22 for one ride. Make checks payable to Freedom Farm. No refunds after closing date. Negative Coggins within one year of show date must accompany entry. You may opt to ride only one test in Classes 1 through 7, but it will not count towards prize money. Please include your e-mail address on the entry form.

· Awards: 50% of the entry fees will go to the three highest averages of two scores in each CLASS. Ribbons and prizes through 6th place in the Golden Oldies Class. Ribbons for 4th, 5th, and 6th place for Junior riders in Classes 1 through 7.

· Starting Times will be available as of Sunday July 12th at www.freedomfarmnj.com.

· Directions: From the Flemington Circle, take 12 West 6.2 miles to Locktown Road (First left after the liquor store) Go .7 miles. Farm is on the left.

· Food will be available. Dogs must be leashed.

· Management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes if necessary.

· Warm up is in the indoor: show is outside on sand/rubber footing

· DOGGIE DRESSAGE will take place at 12 Noon in a small, modified grass dressage arena. Dog accompanied by owner will perform 2 ½ minutes of “dressage movements”, tricks, etc for the judge. Pas de Deux, musical freestyles and quadrilles are welcome. Prizes awarded.
