Open pays $525
McDowell Mountain Park
The ride will be held on March 20 as a benefit for the Park. This event marks our third year at the Park. A new trail will be opened that is not frequented by bicycles or hikers, the horses will have it all to themselves. The course will be 7 miles with obstacles placed along the way. The obstacles are not designed to be spooky but to test the communication between rider and horse. The footing will be mostly sand and decomposed granite but there are a few very rocky spots. Shoes or boots recommended. With all the rain we’ve had the flowers should be beautiful.
There are three classes. Open pays a total of $525 with first place receiving $200. Pleasure and Junior receive ribbons 1st through 6th. There are two non-judged Buddy Divisions, Adult and Junior for riders that want to support the ride.
Lunch will be catered by Burnt Biskit. The menu is roast beef and turkey, garden salad, fresh fruit, beans and their signature homemade biskits, YUM. Lunch is $12.00 per person. As always we will have our raffle and guest speakers during lunch.
