The award-winning TV show Wide World of Horses has announced that Tonya Garrison, former field editor for the American Quarter Horse Journal, has come on board as the show's Marketing Coordinator. Garrison, currently of Amarillo, Texas, will bring her vast knowledge and connections of the Western horse industry. She is already an award-winning writer, having earned a National Reining Horse Association Vaquero Media Award, the National Reining Breeders Classic Media Award, and numerous American Horse Publications and Livestock Publications laurels.
"We are thrilled that Tonya has agreed to join the Wide World of Horses family," noted Wide World of Horses Co-Owner Cheryl Magoteaux. "Not only is she a gifted writer, she is also well-known and respected throughout the performance horse industry. She would be a valued asset to any organization, and we are thrilled she has decided to work with Wide World of Horses."
"I was ecstatic when Cheryl and Jack (Covington) asked me to join the Wide World of Horses team," Garrison said. "I was a newspaper editor for more than 20 years before going to work for the American Quarter Horse Association in 2004 as a writer and photographer. I'm now looking forward to moving into a new media and be a part of the most watched equestrian show on RFD-TV."
Now entering its third year of broadcasting, Wide World of Horses airs on RFD-TV at 11:30 am and 9:30 pm CST every Monday and on Sunday morning at 6:30 am. The 30-minute program features a broad spectrum of the equine world's most exciting events and individuals and offers a great opportunity for equine individuals and events to reach an audience approaching 30 million viewers.
