It was once more Rudi Kronsteiner’s day: The Austrian who has been living and training in Germany for years was the only rider who managed to get all his three horses into the NRHA Breeders Derby Open final which is for the first time NRHA USA approved. With Hesa Mega Whiz, a stallion owned by Andrea Castrucci (Italy) and with which Rudi became French Futurity Champion last year, he rode top score 218 in the go round, placed third with AB Lady Topsallena and tied fourth astride his Polish Futurity Champion mare GK Hollywoodshowtime with Belgian Ann Fonck and Genuine Lil Ruf. FEI European Reining Champion Nina Lill (Germany) and her great mare Lena Cielo Dream were second after the go round scoring a 217.5. They also lead the Limited Open ranking with this. Altogether 17 competitors made it to the Open final for which at least a 209 had to be scored. 15 will ride in the Limited Open.
There will also be 17 horses in the Non Pro final. Last year’s Breeders Derby Non Pro Champion Dominik Reminder (Germany) and his Top Gun Chex are leading after the go round with a 210. Top Gun Chex is a 6-year-old Gelding by NRHA World Champion Chex Enterprise. Michael Jungfer-Schubert and his mare Charlys Cool Running placed second scoring a 209.5. Four riders scored a 207 placing third: Uwe Wiltz astride Shine Way, Guenther Baensch astride Jac For Cash, Klaus Kopp astride Buenonic Banjo and Tanja Waida astride Whoya Callin Wimpy.
Reining Fans can look forward to a spectacular final on Saturday night starting at 6 p.m. There is also livescoring on www.nrha.de as well as livestreaming on http://www.mpvideo.de/livestream/
