The National Reined Cow Horse Association Board of Directors has announced important news for the 2010 Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales Presented by Markel Insurance Company. During the June 13 NRCHA Board of Directors meeting at the NRCHA Derby, the deadline for the Classic Yearling and Broodmare Sale and the Performance Horse Sale was extended to July 15.
NRCHA Sale Committee Chairman Sandy Collier explained the decision, noting, "There has been discussion among the NRCHA Board for moving the Sale deadline in 2011. In view of the relaxed deadline for next year the board elected to extend the deadline for these two 2010 sales to July 15."
In 2009, the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Sales grossed nearly $3 million, with Wright On TC, consigned by Brenda Hannan and purchased Jack Hunter becoming the high-seller of the Performance Horse Sale, bringing $28,500. Katies Lil Cat, consigned by Sally Nakasawa and purchased by Bill Tointon topped the Classic Yearling and Broodmare Sale, commanding a sale price of $24,500.
