Who's Who!
Twenty-year-old Atlanta eventing rider Felicia Bradley is gearing up to compete at the 2010 Richland Park Horse Trials to take place August 25-30 in Richland, MI. Bradley is a consistent Top 5 finisher with appearances at more than 50 shows during her young career.
In preparation for the 2010 American Eventing Championships, held at Chattahoochee Hills in September, Bradley will be riding both of her horses at this year’s Richland Park Horse Trials: an 9-year-old thoroughbred at the Two Star level (Irish Dreams) and a 6-year-old Irish sport horse at the One Star level (Garryndruig Albie). And, there’s no better place to compete with the Adequan USEA Gold Cup also taking place on site. “I love the competition of eventing,” Bradley says. “I absolutely live for it, and the competition at Richland Park is among the best there is.”
The Richland Park Horse Trials, which is held in cooperation with the United States Eventing Association, the USEF and the FEI, will include the three standard eventing phases: dressage, cross country jumping and stadium jumping. To prepare, Bradley, who began jumpers at 13 and received her first show horse at only 16, has trained extensively with two Canadian Olympians, Kyle Carter and Michael Winter, as well as dressage trainer Suzanne King.
With a professional goal to become a well respected international rider competing at the Olympic level, this hard working and ambitious young woman has set her sites on a week of successful top level competition at Richland Park. The Richland Park Horse Trials are the realization of Bob and Kay Willmarth’s lifelong dream. Located in Richland, Michigan, the crown jewel of this 340 acre property is a cross country course designed by top international designer Mike Etherington-Smith. Richland Park is home to novice, training, preliminary, intermediate and advanced courses designed by Etherington-Smith and constructed by Bert Wood and Jay Hambly. In 2009, Richland Park welcomed its new course designer, Ian Stark, a former Olympian and well known course designer, to its family.
