The deadline to enter Project Cowboy is September 1. Visit the Project Cowboy website for complete rules and entry information. Only 200 spots are available in the competition. The winner will receive $10,000, a custom belt buckle, trophy saddle, a promotional DVD of their performance and in addition to other great prizes will have their career launched with clinician appearances at Road to the Horse and other equine events in 2011.
The event is being produced by two giants in the equine industry, Road to the Horse creator Tootie Bland and AQHA Director Patti Colbert, the mastermind behind the Extreme Mustang Makeover events.
To be eligible for the Project Cowboy AQHA special award, contestants must be current AQHA members in good standing and riding a registered American Quarter Horse with papers up to date. The horse must be owned by the contestant or the contestant's immediate family, and the event will follow AQHA's show guidelines for ownership requirements.
