The Arizona Mini Mystique, an American Miniature Horse precision driving drill team, will bring their team of small equines to the biggest equestrian event in the country when they perform at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky. The Mini Mystique will perform daily, October 3 -10, as part of the WEG Showcase Entertainment in the Equine Village at the Kentucky Horse Park.
“Appearing at the World Equestrian Games is a huge honor for The Arizona Mini Mystique and we are so proud to have them representing the American Miniature Horse Registry at the biggest horse event our country has ever seen,” said Johnny Robb, Director of Marketing for the American Miniature Horse Registry (AMHR). “The Arizona Mini Mystique have been wonderful ambassadors for the AMHR for many years. They have taken part in other big events including the 2007, 2008 and 2010 Rose Parades, the Stampede in July 2009, and the Del Mar National Horse Show.”
A world-class driving team, the Arizona Mini Mystique showcases the beauty, grace, power and energy of the American Miniature Horse through intricate drill maneuvers set to music. “They perform very difficult maneuvers such as the Box Cross and the Suicide Wheel. They might be small equines but they put big smiles on the faces of the audiences,” Robb said.
Members of the Arizona Mini Mystique are thrilled to be heading to Kentucky, and the drill team has been working hard to raise funds for their trip to Lexington. “In order to take that many minis, carts and team members to Kentucky, the drill team has been raising money by putting on clinics and driving seminars and holding garage sales and tack sales,” Robb said. “The Arizona Mini Mystique is a non-profit organization and they never charge for their performances.”
In addition to appearing in parades and shows, members of the drill team take their minis to retirement homes and schools to help educate the public about Miniature Horses. They often donate performance time to other non-profit organizations fundraising events.
“The American Miniature Horses in the Arizona Mini Mystique may be small, but they put on a big show and I know they will be a hit at the World Equestrian Games,” Robb said.
The scheduled Arizona Mini Mystique performance times are; Oct. 3rd – 3:30 p.m.; Oct. 4th – 10:00 a.m.; Oct 5th – 2:00 p.m.; Oct. 6th – 5:30 p.m.; Oct. 7th – 3:00 p.m.; Oct. 8th – 10:00 a.m.; Oct. 9th – 11:00 a.m..
