A TRUE “INTERNATIONAL” GOLD CUP RACE TO BE RUN OCTOBER 15, 2011
What:
The 2011 International Gold Cup marks the 74th running of this prestigious race and maintains international interest both in the spectator venues as well as on course. This event will provide a full day of entertainment including nationally sanctioned horse races, terrier races, and tailgate contest. While contenders for this year’s races are yet to be decided, riders from across Europe who are official members of the International Federation of Amateur Riders (FEGENTRI) will compete with U.S. jockeys for the World Cup of Nations.
The event is well-attended by Washington’s diplomatic community as well as ambassadors and representatives from many nations. The International Gold Cup provides a unique venue for social entertaining and a great place to network in the midst of spectacular scenery.

Ticket Information: General admission car passes are $55 in advance, passes also available for purchase on race day. Children 12 years of age and under are admitted free with an adult.
Directions: Great Meadow is located just 45 minutes west of Washington, DC and is in close proximity to Dulles International Airport. To get there from Washington, DC, take I-66 west to The Plains exit. Turn left at the end of the ramp onto The Plains Road (Route 245 south), follow signs to Great Meadow which will be on your left.
