Many types of events have occurred over the years at WestWorld.
Music festivals. Trade Shows. And our events focusing on horses and horsepower.
Whether it’s great events like polo matches or great car or horse shows like Barrett-Jackson or the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show, we have long known what we hope many in Scottsdale realize: WestWorld is a terrific place to enjoy special events. And it is a wonderful property to celebrate our community’s western heritage.
The city is doing its part at WestWorld, planning and investing in expanded facilities. These improvements are designed to encourage additional recreational opportunities for residents as well as expand tourism events and economic development opportunities.
We are going to help too. While each of our organizations currently use WestWorld for events large and small we thought it would make a lot of sense to collaborate on a new one.
Polo is a sport and brand that fits Scottsdale’s reputation and cache. If we can enhance its events we are all winners. Tourism (our largest industry) Citizens. WestWorld.
On November 5th we are going to attempt exactly that. That is when we are going to host the First Annual Polo Party: Horses & Horsepower. It combines the best kind of events WestWorld often hosts. There will be a polo match at 1pm with the Arizona Polo Club, as we will be showcasing some of the collector cars for the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale just two months later. Prior to a “Pretty Woman” –style “stomping of the divots” at halftime Arabians will parade the field, giving attendees a flare for the Arabian Horse Show every January. The Arizona Lamborghini Club will be joining in too, along with some other great Scottsdale restaurants, companies and charities.
If you like cars, this will be a great day for you. If you like horses, it’s for you too. With your readers help we may achieve the largest attendance for a polo event ever in Arizona – and remind all that there is still a little “west” in the “West’s Most Western Town.”
The future could hold matches with counterparts in Palm Beach, Santa Barbara and the Hamptons at WestWorld.
These types of events reinforce the outstanding economic development opportunities WestWorld continues to provide Scottsdale, and shows its potential for more. The same goes for the Bell Road corridor of McDowell Mountain gateways, WestWorld, Ice Dens, the TPC (home of the Phoenix Open) and strategic city land.
So please join in on the fun November 5th. The public is invited to attend. See and enjoy the amazing place that is WestWorld. Your investments are paying off.
