The red and white colors of Vita Flex were very prominent during week 8 of the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), as the brand of equine supplements took the spotlight during major events at the prestigious show. The intense competition at WEF highlights the importance of keeping equine athletes performing at their peak, and Vita Flex’s line of precise and tested equine supplements are a boon to any rider looking to give their horse a competitive edge.
The $35,000 Vita Flex Match Race was held Saturday night under the brilliant lights of the International Arena and tested each horse’s speed and accuracy under pressure. Sixteen horse and rider combinations showed in the races, which pit two horses in head to head competition over mirror image courses. Lauren Tisbo of Wellington, FL and Tequestrian Farm LLC’s Welinde demonstrated their agility and accuracy to top the four rounds of racing, consistently finishing with the quickest time. The 2012 Vita Flex Match Race was Tisbo’s first match race competition. “It was a lot of fun and it went really well for me,” stated Tisbo. “It was kind of a last minute decision to compete and I’m a little shocked to have won!” The Match Race was followed by the Hermes Puissance, a high jump class that tests the horse and rider’s ability to master increasingly high obstacles. Paul O’Shea and Michael Hayden’s Primo Level topped a height of 6’8’’ and knocked off a block at 7’2’’ to secure the win over Pablo Barrios and Gustavo Mirabal’s G&C Quivola, the returning champions from 2011.
Vita Flex’s colors were all around as diners at the International Club were presented with engraved key chains and bandanas bearing the brand’s logo. “The key chains were very popular and we saw quite a few dogs sporting the Vita Flex red and white bandanas as well,” said Cherie White, brand manager for Vita Flex Nutrition. “We really enjoy sponsoring the Match Race as it is a unique event that people love to watch. The competition is made much more intense with two horses racing simultaneously against the clock.”
Vita Flex also presented the Victory Pass Award to Christa Endicott and Cherish, who were the champions of the Pre Green Combined Hunter Classic during week 8. “We love presenting the Victory Pass Award which highlights a winning performance and gives the rider a selection of our products to use on their horses,” said White. “Christa and Cherish put in a stunning round to take the win, and we are glad to recognize and reward her accomplishments.”
As the winner of the Vita Flex Victory Pass Award, Endicott received a bucket of the Vita Flex® joint supplement Equinyl™ Combo. White said many high performance horses rely on Equinyl™ Combo which may help reduce inflammation associated with training and competition, without causing gastrointestinal side effects.
Vita Flex® products are well known within the horse industry and include Vita-Hoof® Hoof Conditioner and Dressing, AccuLytesTM Electrolytes, EquinylTM Combo joint supplement, Master’s Hoof BlendTM formula and Accel® Health and Wellness Formula, just to name a few.
