The 2016 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show kicked off November 3 in Oklahoma City.

Exhibitors at the 2016 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show saddled up and brought their A-game to the show pen for the first day of stiff competition in Oklahoma City. Classes began at 10 a.m. in the Jim Norick Arena at State Fair Park with the prelims of junior cutting.
More than 4,920 entries from the United States, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, South Africa and the United Kingdom are competing November 3-19 for 99 world championships and 83 Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan) Level 2 championship titles at this year’s event.
The Lucas Oil World has a variety of events and activities for competitors, friends, family and spectators, including free Nutrena Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen. See the Lucas Oil World Show schedule for the tentative list of clinics.
Be sure to check out the Christmas Roundup Gift and Trade Show with free admission; it features more than 100 vendors, selling home décor, jewelry, tack, western attire and more in the Cox Pavilion. Trailer World in the Centennial Building will feature several companies, displaying the latest in horse trailer models.
Attendees can also look forward to receptions and parties during the show, including the Farnam Superhorse Party, sponsored by the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau and The American Quarter Horse Journal, at 6 p.m. on November 13 in the Super Barn.
