Love from the Farm
Humans shouldn't have a monopoly on Valentine's Day. After all, love is a language that transcends words, whinnies, moos and clucks. Think about how much your animals care about you. Think how much of an impact they make in your life. With that in mind, here's 4 ways you can reciprocate those feelings and show your animals how much you care about them.
1. Cuddle Time
When it comes to animals, quality time can make a huge impact. Animals' bonds are based on trust. The more time you spend cuddling with your favorite hen or rubbing your horse's head, the more they feel safe around you.
2. Tasty Treats
A good way to your animals' heart is often through their stomachs. Whether it's a cow, goat, chicken or young colt, every animal understands the special significance of a delicious treat. Even animals such as mice and hamsters have been shown to develop bonds with their owners through using the animal's favorite foods. However, treats can often mess with an animal's diet. That's why we carefully formulated Standlee's Apple/Berry Cookie Cubes® to not imbalance their nutrition plans.
3. Acting like One of the Herd
Farm animals develop bonds of love and care through their social groups. For fowls, this social group consists of their flock. For horses and cows, it's their herd. A great way to develop a bond for your animals is by becoming one of their herd or flock members. This means spending time with your animals while doing the things you know they love. Does your favorite cow love it when you scratch near his ears? Does your horse love going for an extra ride? All of these interactions help develop those special bonds with your animals.
4. Sweet Dreams
Where an animal sleeps is incredibly important to them. For your animals, sleep is the most vulnerable state they can be in. Providing your animal with a clean, comfortable roosting spot, stall or barn is a great way to show how much you care. If you really want to be on your animals' good side, try adding a bedding enhancer to their sleep spot.
