Spring has sprung here at Prescott Valley’s Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School, and the staff, faculty, and students are excited to be back for the final quarter of the 2016-2017 academic year. Our students are continuing to blossom and bloom as they participate in a wide range of exciting academic and extracurricular events, competitions, and activities.
The Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School science fair just wrapped up and it was a huge success. More than 50 students participated. Experiments focused on agricultural studies, STEM based research, equine and veterinarian practices, and various hypotheses surrounding social science. Students’ projects demonstrated a high level of understanding and deep sense of curiosity. These elements of inquiry and hands-on learning foster and motivate our students to succeed here and at the college level.
The Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School archery team recently competed in their second State Tournament. The Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School archery team is comprised of 30 students who compete regularly at local, district, and state competitions. Junior Archer Nate Green, placed 12th in the overall state completion.
During Spring Break the Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School Social
Studies Department had the exciting opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. with 25 students. Despite the wintery weather, the students had an amazing time. Students toured Ford’s Theater, visited The Capital, and met government leaders and officials. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and the Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School students are excited to apply their first-hand experiences to their studies of American History and Government.
As the days get longer and the temperatures continue to warm up Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School students, staff, and faculty will be preparing for AZMerit testing, college tours, community service projects, prom, and graduation. We are in the midst of an extremely exciting and successful academic year. It is not too late to stop in for a tour and enroll for the 2017-2018 school year. The Arizona Agribusiness & Equine Center Charter School will be hosting an open house on Thursday, April 13, from 5:30 – 7:00p.m., please come in and visit our beautiful campus and meet our amazing principal Patrick Wellert and all of our outstanding educators. AAEC is offering a truly unique educational experience in the heart of Prescott Valley. The 2017-2018 school year begins August 7th, 2017. Enrollment packets are available now. Stop in and see us we are located at 7500 E. Civic Circle, and open from 7:30a.m. -4p.m.
