SBS Farms Scores Winning Awards at Summer Shows
Buffalo, NY - June 28, 2011 - SBS Farms had an excellent two weeks of competition as they kicked-off their summer show schedule at the Skidmore Classic I in Saratoga, NY from June 14-19, 2011, and the Buffalo Showtime Horse Show in Hamburg, NY, from June 23-26, 2011. Trainer Susie Schoellkopf and professional rider Jennifer Alfano led all of the horses and students to top ribbons in their respective divisions.

Classique Internationale De Blainville (Jumping Blainville) Prepares for World-Class Competition
Blainville, Quebec - June 28, 2011 -The Classique Internationale De Blainville (Jumping Blainville) is quickly approaching the kick-off date of July 6, 2011, for its two weeks of exciting hunter/jumper action. The city of Blainville is utilizing its team of full-time employees to make the Equestrian Park of Blainville a welcome home for more than 500 riders over the two weeks of competition. The first week of Jumping Blainville will get underway July 6-10, 2011, and the second week will continue July 13-17, 2011.

Jessie Lang and C. Quito Win $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby
Bjorn Ikast Makes It Three in a Row in the $30,000 Gesco Grand Prix
Parker, CO---The third week of the Colorado Summer Circuit ended with big money classes! Jessie Lang riding Margot Snowdon's C. Quito brought home the blue ribbon and the winning check to Wyoming in the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. Amateur rider Rachel Boggus bested the pros in the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby. And in the $30,000 Gesco Grand Prix, Bjorn Ikast made it three in a row by leading the victory gallop in the Prix for the third consecutive week.

Gov. Beshear announces Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games had economic impact of more than $201 million
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games held in 2010 at the Kentucky Horse Park had an economic impact of $201.5 million, Governor Steve Beshear announced today.
“The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games were indeed a success and this report illustrates the positive result that our local and state governments, our sponsors, the many volunteers, the business community and the citizens of the Commonwealth working together can have.” Gov. Beshear said. “It also underscores the important role of the Kentucky Horse Park and the legacy the games will have for future years.”

Atlanta Summer Classics Finale Packed with Big Awards

Holmes and Gideon Win $7,500 Open Jumper Welcome Stake at Plymouth Rock Hunter Jumper Classic
Halifax, MA - June 23, 2011 - The Plymouth Rock Hunter Jumper Classic continued today and hosted the $7,500 Open Jumper Welcome Stake in the rolling grass of the Grand Prix Field. John Holmes of New Hope, PA, rode his horse Gideon to victory. The Plymouth Rock Hunter Jumper Classic runs through Saturday, June 25, 2011, and is hosted by Fieldstone Equestrian in Halifax, Massachusetts.

Battle in the Saddle - Entries are due June 24, and move-in day is July 4 at State Fair Park
The 2011 Battle in the Saddle at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City is a one-of-a-kind equestrian event that showcases five truly western disciplines. During this year’s Battle in the Saddle, July 5-9, competitors shoot it out in numerous fast-paced, exciting events: ranch horse, reining, working cow horse, roping, cowboy mounted shooting and cutting.
Horses and riders compete for their share of more than $140,000 in estimated total purses. The cutting, reining, roping and working cow horse classes are recognized as AQHA special events, with all breeds welcome.

FEI ANNOUNCES JUDGES OF FEI AWARDS 2011
The Fédération Equestre International (FEI), the governing body of equestrian sport, is pleased to announce the FEI Awards 2011 judging panel, which will be presided by FEI President HRH Princess Haya for the third consecutive year.
Diane Fissore-Wathelet, President of the Monaco Equestrian Federation, Zoë Kayes, Secretary General of the Malawi Equestrian Federation, and Juan Andres Sauce, International Delegate of the Venezuelan Equestrian Federation, will have the tough task of deciding which nominees will be applauded for their contribution to the sport at the FEI Awards Ceremony in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in November.

Sons of the Wind Farm to Perform at PDVA "Ride for Life"

Nordic Lights Farm Garners Excellent Ribbons at HITS Saugerties II & III
Saugerties, NY- June 17, 2011 - Nordic Lights Farm continued their winning ways over the past two weeks as they competed at HITS Saugerties Weeks II & III. Junior rider Lene Bruheim and professional rider Darragh Kenny each had great success with the talented mounts of Nordic Lights Farm. Missy Clark and John Brennan from North Run helped lead the team to success in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings.

Ostholt shows his artistry to lead Luhmühlen in HSBC FEI Classics™
Frank Ostholt (GER) is back in the limelight at Luhmühlen, presented by E.ON Avacon (GER), a competition he won back in 2006 on probably his best known horse, Air Jordan.
Ostholt, 35, an Olympic team gold medallist in Hong Kong in 2008, heads an international field at the third leg of the HSBC FEI Classics™ 2011 series on Little Paint, a 13-year-old gelding by Nitron, on which he took second place at Luhmühlen three years ago.

USEF Names Eventing Riders for CIC2* Greenwich Park Eventing Invitational
Lexington, KY - The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) will be represented at the CIC2* Greenwich Park Eventing Invitational (London Test Event) from July 4-6, 2011 by three American eventing riders. This competition will serve as a test event for the 2012 London Olympic Games and is an important part of the preparation for this competition. Dressage, Eventing, Jumping and Para-Equestrian Dressage will all be held at the historic Greenwich Park next summer, the Olympic Games begin on July 27, 2012 and run through August 12. The Paralympic Games run from August 29-September 9.

This Week in USEF International Disciplines - June 8
American dressage star Guenter Seidel returned to top form at CDI Hamburg, winning the Grand Prix Freestyle on UII. Seidel, who has represented the United States on numerous occasions, broke his pelvis a year ago and has made an amazing recovery to the top of the sport. After a third place finish in the Grand Prix in Hamburg, Seidel topped the field in the Freestyle with a score of 73.400%. Lillann Jebsen of Norway was second on Pro-Set and Alexandra Bimschas was third for Germany on Dick Tracy.

$25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby - Legacy, Tradition and Love
