....and into the wild, blue yonder of the Foy's to Blacktail Trails.

Please read carefully. We need FCTA Member input in deciding how to support this initiative, and we need you to be aware of the Foys to Blacktail Trails project.

The FCTA developed Herron Park as a public equestrian facility for all recreational users. The club has always supported the use of the trails beyond and considered Herron Park the gateway to these trails. FCTA voted to financially support FTBT by donating the proceeds from one mini event for the next two years. Members are also considering matching that donation with Club funds. We'd like to hear from you about this before it is voted on at the next meeting, November 26th. Please reply if you vote "yes" to match the funds rasied by the mini-event, or "no" to not match the funds and donate just the proceeds generated by the mini-event. Please reply by November 25th, for your input to be represented, even if you are not in attendence, during the meeting on November 26th. The vote will be executed considering the responses received.

Below is a summary of FtBT's project:

Our community has a unique opportunity to purchase a 320 acre piece of land that is the gateway between Flathead County's Herron Park and the Forest Service and Plum Creek lands to the south.

There is a Conservation Fund acting as a bridge buyer enabling community members two years to raise money needed to secure permanent public access. By purchasing this key piece of property, we can ensure that Herron Park will continue to be a strong anchor for a recreational trail system just a few minutes from Kalispell.

Foys to Blacktail Trails is a 501(c)(3) volunteer non-profit group started by a group of Flathead Valley residents who have used these lands for years to hike, bike, horseback ride, dog walk, cross-country ski and more. It's mission is to secure permanent access to trails and to connect Herron Park just south of Foys Lake to the Forest Service Lands surrounding Blacktail Mountain.

Foys to Blacktail Trails needs your help to protect public recreation access. To contribute or learn more, please visit the FTBT website, www.foystoblacktailtrails.org or call Liz at 752-3318.

Thanks....and we look forward to seeing you at the park.
