Azzaro, Novillo Astrada Share Michelob Ultra Polo MVP Award from Outback 40-Goal

Argentine 10-goaler Miguel Novillo Astrada and American 9-goaler Mike Azzaro of Crab Orchard shared the Michelob Ultra Polo MVP award of the 2008 Outback 40-Goal Challenge Saturday at International Polo Club Palm Beach.

Gonzalito Pieres scored the winning goal with one second remaining to lift Crab Orchard to a 10-9 triumph over EFG Bank.

Azzaro and Novillo Astrada finished with three goals each to lead Crab Orchard.

“Michelob Ultra Polo is honored to participate in this event because it helps those in polo who need it the most,” said Adolphus A. Busch IV, a former high-goal player and patron who continues to sponsor the sport in various ways throughout the United States. “Polo is a great sport and I miss playing but by being a sponsor I still feel a part of the game.”

Proceeds from the event benefited the Polo Players Support Group, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to seriously injured or ill polo players and grooms.
