KENTUCKY RACES TO FLORIDA TO RAISE FUNDS FOR FREEDOM RIDE

5th Annual Derby Day Soiree will include the 134th installment of the “greatest two minutes in sports” and 200+ guests in traditional Derby attire
WHAT: A virtual Kentucky Derby is coming to Central Florida with the 5th annual Derby Day Soiree. Everyone is invited to swap their boots for a Derby hat, grab a mint julep and saddle up for a red carpet afternoon at the stable. Freedom Ride will show guests the traditions, thrills and elegance of the Kentucky Derby with dining, dancing, silent and live auction entertainment and a unique Freedom Ride experience, all culminating in the 134th Run for the Roses broadcast.
WHEN: Saturday, May 3, 2008, 3:00 pm- 7:00 pm
WHERE: In a comfortably air-conditioned tent at the Freedom Ride stables, 1905 Lee Rd., Orlando
WHO: Freedom Ride (www.freedomride.com ) is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that is central Florida’s only nationally accredited therapeutic horseback riding center for disabled children and adults. Freedom Ride began operations in 1998 with one rider and one borrowed horse. Today, Freedom Ride has thirteen horses, 200 volunteers and provides therapeutic riding for over 80 local children and adults every week.
WHY: The Derby Day Soiree is Freedom Ride’s largest annual fundraiser and all proceeds will benefit the non-profit organization in its efforts to enrich the lives and experience of individuals with disabilities in the Central Florida area through therapeutic horse riding and related activities.
