Canada’s Angela Covert-Lawrence put pressure on seven riders in the jump-off for the $20,000 Absorbine® Myoplast®1.50m Classic and came out the victor. Her 11-year-old grey Belgian Warmblood mare, Unica van de Roshoeve, cleared David Ballard’s course in 34.11 seconds leaving all rails sleeping in their cradles. Francie Steinwedell-Carvin and her horse Splitfire challenged Lawrence with a double clear effort, narrowly missing first place in 34.26 seconds.

Lawrence, the first rider to return for the jump-off remarked, "Like everyone always says, I wanted to go fast enough but still be clear to put the pressure on everyone else. We have only had Unica for a year so I haven't done that many jump-offs yet. That was probably the fastest we have ever run her. At first I thought the jump-off was going to be difficult because there was a lot of galloping, but she liked it. She was such a good girl!"

Unica arrived in Florida from Belgium during last year’s Winter Equestrian Festival. With steady work and a consistent routine, the mare settled in and slowly developed the skills she needed to compete in the International Grand Prix ring at the Winter Equestrian Festival.

"It is amazing how much she has grown up down here. She is brave and sure of herself. I just had to figure out what she likes and doesn't like, and that has taken us a year, " said Lawrence.

Interesting to note, the two top finishers in the Absorbine Myoplast 1.50m Classic are both Rider Ambassadors for JustWorld International. Lawrence competes wearing the signature royal blue jacket.

Absorbine Myoplast has sponsored the CN WEF 1.50m Classic for the entire 12-week jumper circuit in Florida, in addition to supporting high performance dressage competitions; W. F. Young, Inc., the marketers of Absorbine horse care products, has been very visible in the riding community, supporting multidiscipline events for the Winter Equestrian Festival.

Through supporting and sponsoring the 1.50m Classic at the celebrated Florida Winter Equestrian Festival, Absorbine Myoplast has been very successful in helping U.S. equestrians learn more about a muscle supplement their European counterparts have used for years.

Myoplast is a concentrated amino acid muscle supplement formulated to support the development of lean muscle mass in performance horses. Absorbine is introducing Myoplast to the United States as an over-the-counter supplement that formerly was only available in Europe purchased through veterinarians.

Absorbine products are available nationwide in tack shops, farm supply stores and catalogues. For a dealer near you or for more information, visit the Absorbine website at www.absorbine.com.
