Karen Healey Stables Riders Dominate Interscholastic Equestrian League Finals, Successful at Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic II

The Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL) had their final show of the year on April 13, and riders from Karen Healey Stables did very well. They took home top prizes and year-end awards. Riders were also successful at the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic III Horse Show with ribbons ranging from the grand prix to the junior hunters.

At the IEL Finals, Shelby Wakeman of Westlake Village won the Varsity Medal Finals. Holly Dickinson of Los Angeles finished fifth. Haley Harrison of La Canada was third in the JV Medal Finals. Dickinson took home the Varsity Hunter reserve championship. Michelle Morris of La Canada also finished as the Reserve Champion Varsity Rider and was champion in the equitation, while Samantha Harrison of La Canada was reserve champion in the equitation. Morris and Wakeman were champion and reserve, respectively, in the Year-end title for Varsity Equitation.

At the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic III, assistant trainer Kasey Ament had a good week. She won the Open Equitation Classic on Cavello, owned by Donna Neff. With Zico 13, she finished 10th in the $35,000 Spring Classic III Grand Prix. She was seventh in the $5,000 1.45m Jumper Classic with Acrobat. On Santika, she won a 1.40m Jumper class and was second in the 1.35m Jumpers with Lichtenstein 7.

Tina DiLandri of La Jolla, CA, finished third in the Open Equitation Classic, while Elizabeth Dickinson was eighth. Sophie Benjamin piloted Cabo Z, a young horse owned by Fred Bauer, to 10th place.

The winners of the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic were DiLandri and Chanel 292. The pair also finished third in the division. Dickinson and Fabius 45 were fourth and eighth in the same division, while Michelle Morris and Lichtenstein 7 received third place.

In the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers, Samantha Harrison and Santika finished seventh in the Classic and fifth in the division. Jocelyn Neff and Golden Flip placed sixth and seventh.

Yasmine Abdallat and Team Harmony Rimina finished fourth in the 1.25m Jumpers.

Samantha Harrison and her equitation horse Triple Lutz won the flat class and the over fences class in the Equitation 15-17 division. They placed second in the USEF Junior Medal and were fifth in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. Also in the Equitation 15-17, Sophie Benjamin was third and Neff was fifth on the flat. Neff took second place over fences, while Benjamin was third.

Haley Harrison was second and Demi Steigler was third in the Equitation 14 & Under flat class. Harrison placed fifth over fences. Benjamin was third overall in the WIHS Equitation, while Navona Gallegos was fourth, and Steigler placed sixth in her first ever WIHS Equitation class. Michelle Morris placed fourth in the CPHA Medal on El Campeon's Ottograaf.

DiLandri took third in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search and second in the WIHS Equitation hunter phase. She also rode Smitten for owner Stephanie Danhakl and trainer Archie Cox to the championship in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunters and received good ribbons in the same division on Capone, also owned by Danhakl.
