Polo patrons and players traded in their mallets and ponies for putters and carts when John Goodman hosted an IPC Polo Players Golf Tournament at the Wanderers Club on Monday.
“We had a good time,” said Hector Galindo of Orchard Hill. “It’s a great course, a great place. As long as there’s competition, it makes it interesting.”
Santiago Chavanne, Gonzalito Pieres, Pablo MacDonough and Pablo Erbin captured the low gross honors with a 69. Isla Carroll’s team of John Goodman, Sugar Erskine, Marcos diPaola and Facundo Pieres earned the low net crown with a 60.
As usual, Sugar Erskine provided comic relief for everyone, showing up wearing a traditional Scottish kilt and beret.
“Sugar puts more interest and more fun into everything,” said Galindo.
The Wanderers Club at Wellington is a classic pairing of golf and polo, providing a perfect blend of sport and lifestyle. The private Wanderers Club has captured the allure of the 2,000-year-old sport of polo with an understated elegance and enhanced the experience with a warm, nurturing environment for families to build friendships and memories. The club features unique membership options with personalized service and first-class amenities for members to enjoy a complete and luxurious experience.
