Gemini De Turlong Jumps Double Clean for Junior Jumper Victory

This past weekend, Katherine Newman participated in the Littlewood Spring V Horse Show. The 17-year-old rider resides in Wellington at her farm, Allwyn Court, and trains with her parents, Kathy and Gerry. After top ribbons and a successful circuit at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), Newman continues to show and catch-ride horses for other owners and trainers.

This weekend she had a clean sweep in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunters aboard Lifetime Guarantee. The horse, owned by Lisa McKee-Cole, paired with Newman during the twelfth week of WEF, and they returned to the hunter ring this weekend and came away with top honors and the championship award. "Lifetime Guarantee was incredible," commented Newman. "He won every class! He was perfect this weekend."

The young rider also showed Gemini De Turlong in the Junior Jumper division. "She was the only double clear in the Junior Jumper Classic, and she won!" said Newman. "Gemini was really great; she gets easier and easier every time she goes in the ring." Gemini De Turlong is also owned by McKee-Cole.

Katherine Newman will continue to compete at the Littlewood Spring Horse Shows, and she will travel to Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York to compete this summer.
