Help Save the Horses from Slaughter

On November 23, 2007, Pure Thoughts Horse and Foal Rescue saved 82 horses from going to slaughter for human consumption. They would have been shipped to Mexico and endured a tortuous death.

Well, we are going to do it again. On May 23, 2008, Pure Thoughts will be going back to Sugarcreek, Ohio to the Sugarcreek Auction House to outbid the killbuyers for 25 horses. Between the ransoms (cost of the horses),
shipping, immediate emergency vet needs, oat location, health certificates and coggins, we have estimated the costs to be $34,000. We are basing these costs on the last trip we took in November.

Please help us save these beautiful horses from going to slaughter for human consumption in Mexico. It is a
tortuous ending for any horse. They are crammed onto trucks -- from young ones to old ones to stallions. After
traveling thousands of miles in inhumane transport conditions, they arrive at the plant hungry, thirsty, frightened
and confused.
