Attention Adult Riders!!!

What to look for this season in Area X!!!

This year Area X has teamed up three ladies to help organize the Area X Adult Rider Program. Shirley McCune in Phoenix, AZ, Lisbeth Storandt, NM, and Tana Rains, in Tucson, AZ are working together to refresh the Adult Rider Program. There has been a big push in the Young Rider Program for Area X over the past couple of years, and we are looking to do the same for the Adult Riders of Area X.

Area X has received two annual grants from the USEA to use toward building up our Adult Rider Program. This is our Area’s money to be used for our benefit in the Adult Riders Program! Some of these funds are being used to offset the costs of :

1. John Staples Clinic in Santa Fe, NM in May 2009

2. John Staples Clinic in Flagstaff, AZ in July 2009 (between the two Coconino HTs)

3. John Staples Clinic in Las Cruces, NM in the Fall 2009 (date TBA)

4. Leslie Law Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona in December 2009

FYI – For those of you who don’t know, John Staples is the Area X Young Riders Team Coach for the North American Championships and is excited to work with our Adult Riders!

NOTE: Many of the programs will combine the registered Area X Young Riders and Adult Riders this year!

Here are a few of the benefits of Adult Rider program – Remember, you must be a registered Area X Adult Rider to receive these benefits!

* Reduced rates to Area X Adult Rider Clinics.
* Adult Rider Get-Togethers/educational events at each of the area X events.
* Adult Rider Lowest Score Awards – @ each of the Area’s Horse Trials for each Division
* Year End Awards to Adult Riders - Amateurs not professionals. (Please register for the Adult Rider’s Program before the start of the season at the Spring Coconino HT to be eligible for these awards - Points are not retroactive.)

In order to participate in the Adult Rider Program, all you need to do is save up $25 and join via the USEA website: www.useventing.com - Click on the ”join us” menu and follow this to the dashboard services.
