I write this with true sorrow in my heart and tears in my eyes. Shea's horse RANGER fell to an accident sometime in the night and pulled his rear hoof off to the cannon bone. Ranger was a great horse who lived for his rides with Shea. Please say a prayer for Ranger he is off to the big pastures in heaven to be with another child who needs him there.

It is always unknown why God takes the best first. But he has his reasons.
If anyone knows of another horse that is great with kids and can can be rescued or purchased to help one little girl laugh and ride with confidence again please let me know.

Ranger was a retired cutting/reining horse that has been to our house twice as a rescue from starvation horse. We decided to keep him this last time and renamed him Ranger after Rescue Ranger. I've been riding for years but this horse knew way more then me. I couldn't ride him in a straight line. My daughter who was 6 at the time begged me to let her ride him, then she begged me to cut loose of the pony line. I reluctantly did and they were best buddies from that day on.

Ranger would stand still for her to shimmy up and wait for her to get ready in the saddle.. he was 16 hands tall. He would walk when she said walk and run like the wind when she said run. He taught her confidence in horses. They learned how to trail ride together jumping logs and crossing streams. Shea logged literally hundreds of miles atop this horse and they went on many camping trips. He would take her on 6 hour rides and be ready in the evening for another ride. He tethered trailered and did just everything great for her. She would let him graze when camping not tied and call him and he would always come trotting back to her. He would pick up his feet for her to clean and just hold them there never leaning on her. Shea and Ranger just returned from Camp Courage in Prescott where Shea shared Ranger with the burn kids .. she is so proud that she got to share such a great horse. Ranger loved the hours that Shea groomed him always trying to nuzzle her and look for a treat. Ranger was Shea's best buddy and will always be in her heart. The family will miss Ranger and we all feel sad for Shea that Ranger will no longer be a part of our life. If anyone knows of or has has a healthy horse that can be a kids horse be loved and be great on the trails Please feel free to call us. Nature 928-739-4665 or 866-235-1099
