Racing Champions Announced Live Wednesday

AQHA will announce the 2009 AQHA Racing Champions awards live at 6 p.m. CST, Wednesday, January 13, from Heritage Place in Oklahoma City. The show will broadcast free of charge on Q-Racing Video.
Nominees automatically qualify based on 2009 earnings or statistics; members of the AQHA Racing Committee may nominate additional horses if they wish. The 25 members of the AQHA Racing Champions Selection Subcommittee then vote on a final ballot in each of these 21 categories:
* 2-year-old colt
* 2-year-old filly
* 2-year-old gelding
* 3-year-old colt
* 3-year-old filly
* 3-year-old gelding
* Aged stallion
* Aged mare
* Aged gelding
* Distance horse
* Canadian race horse
* Mexican race horse
* Broodmare
* Trainer
* Breeder
* Owner
* Jockey
* Overall 2-year-old
* Overall 3-year-old
* Overall aged horse
* World Champion

Winners in all categories receive a bronze trophy created by famed equine sculptor Lisa Perry. A unique Lisa Perry bronze has been created to honor the world champion. The new trophy will be unveiled at the January 13 ceremony.
Fans can watch the award presentation live and free of charge on Q-Racing Video, aqharacing.com's subscription race video service. Non-subscribers who wish to view the program will only be required to submit a valid e-mail address.
