The 2009 NRHA Open Futurity was a good one for Arizona trainer and NRHA Million Dollar Rider Randy Paul. Not only did Paul take two horses to the Open Futurity finals, but finished in the top 10.
Paul and Tinker With Guns, by Gunner and out of Tinker Nic, by Reminic, scored a 225 to earn 4th place and a paycheck worth $57,118. He then followed that up with a 220 on Taris Favorite Trick, by Mr Boomerjac and out of Taris Little Vintage, by Peppy San Badger, a full brother to Paul’s 2006 NRHA Futurity Champion, Taris Designer Genes. The score gave Taris Favorite Trick and Paul the ninth place position, earning an additional $26,667. Both horses are owned by Jim and Pat Warren’s Ranch Oso Rio of Scottsdale, Arizona. All in all, Paul pocketed $83,785 at the event.
Randy Paul is based out of Rancho Oso Rio in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is an NRHA Million Dollar Rider and has three AQHA World Championships and an NRHA Open Futurity title to his credit, in addition to multiple other reining and reined cow horse titles. He is proudly sponsored by Bob’s Custom Saddles, Rios of Mercedes Boots, Pro Equine, Nutrena and Bailey Hats.
