29-March 2 The largest gathering of trail riders in the history of the world! The Trail Blazer Magazine Festival for Trail Riders will be held near Phoenix, Arizona on February 29 – March 2, 2008. This first-ever event specifically for Trail Riders will feature twenty internationally renowned speakers who will present workshops and demonstrations designed for trail riding enthusiasts This is the first and only national event that is dedicated 100% to the trail rider: all the speaker, all the demos, all the displays, all the vendors, all trail riding all day. . Early ticket sales show that riders will be coming from all over the USA and around the world to attend. The Festival is being held in a very unique venue. The old west town of Rawhide, in Chandler, Arizona, is a theme park of its own accord. It is a totally re-created western town with rides, buffalo and other animals, costumed staff, and a steakhouse that is built from a century-old original building. There are exceptional golf courses nearby as well as all the attractions Arizona is famous for, and March weather is usually sunny and warm. A special attraction will be the “Battle of the Breeds,” where different breeds of horses will compete to determine which breed is the Ultimate Trail Horse. 29, 2008 Horses Help will be hosting a Trail Trials at McDowell Mountain Park to benefit the therapeutic riding programs serving a diverse population of special needs riders for over 20 years.  The Park is opening NEW TRAILS and the ride will use the new and existing trails. 24 -25 Horse & Rider Obstacle Course Competition, Circle C Cowboy Church of Rusk County, Henderson, TX. . (Series 2/23, 3/22, 4/26 and May 24 & 25) Obstacle Course for Horse and Rider teams. the main objective is to show your horsemanship abilities; however, the event is timed and the time is factored into the score. Some of he obstacles are a water crossing, a bridge, open/close gate, log drag, step over, cowboy curtain and much more. there will be a series of 4 events and 3 division - Men, Women and Youth. prizes will be awarded for 1st-3rd in each division for each event. May 24 will be the last of the qualifying events. FAMILY DAY to be held in conjunction with the last race. There will also be a "Cowboy Stew Challenge", a silent auction, a live auction for horse trained on the course, cowboy poetry, and a "MOCK RODEO" for children. the final will be held on May 25 after church services. The final competitors will be competing for a saddle, championship buckles, and custom spur straps. the entry fee will be $30 - spectators are welcome at no charge.
