AQHYA Conference Urges Youth To "Rise To The Challenge"
AMARILLO, Texas -- The annual American Quarter Horse Youth Association
Leadership Conference is scheduled for May 3-6 at the American Quarter Horse
Association headquarters in Amarillo, Texas.
The 2001 theme "Rise To The Challenge" will be the focus of the
weekend. Activities scheduled are designed to give youth the opportunity to
meet industry professionals and learn leadership skills. The conference
presents a cross-section of speakers and an array of hands-on activities.
"The AQHYA Youth Leadership Conference gives AQHYA Members a chance to
work together on team efforts as well as learn a little about themselves,"
said Robin Devin, Director of Youth Activities and AQHYA. "Lecture topics
for the conference encompass a wide range of leadership skills such as
managing, motivation and character building. Interactive teamwork and
problem-solving skits will comprise a large part of the events as well."
Initial enrollments will be limited to two youth members and the affiliate
advisor. Each affiliate will be responsible for selecting their
representatives.
The conference is sponsored by MBNA America® and presented by Wrangler.
