KEEP APRIL 28TH AND
29TH OPEN
Shelby
Shank. All you have to do is hear her name, and those of you who know her,
well, all you can do is smile. What a character. Shelby has been wrestling with
her health . The bills are tough. All of us want to do something to let
Shelby know how much we care about her. Sooooo.. it's HORSE SHOW TIME!
Thanks to Keith Marshall, Dave and Kathy Johnson, Tim and Sue Herrick -
they are putting on what looks to be one fun event. The program boasts most all
the classes that are found at the
"A" shows, but also many other classes like walk-trot, hunter hack,
and the always popular crossrails. They are having a full range of jumper
classes, starting at the 2í3 level, up to 3'9", and a full range of hunter
classes. Also, they show great foresight in holding some western classes,
pleasure and horsemanship. That ought to appeal to a lot of other area
horseman, and I think nothing would be better for the juniors than to
"broaden their horizons" and see something other than hunters at a
horseshow. I miss that now , years ago the most well-attended shows were
the ones that featured different riding styles! There will be great prizes-too
many to list- tentatively scheduled - a raffle or silent auction for a
breeding this year to the stallion Allaíczar, owned by Camille Greer of
Gilbert, Az. He is considered to be, definitely, one of the leading hunter
sires in the country. He is the sire of Osczcar, the regular working hunter who
recorded the first "100" given as a score in the hunter division. His
offspring have an unbelievable record of success, and if your thinking of
breeding this year, get in on the action at the show! Thank you to Camille for
this wonderful gift. This show will be a great opportunity to
fine tune before heading up to the Prescott Memorial Day show, May 25th-28th .
Mark your calendar for that. (Chris Collman, manager)
Shelby is the best. She is a respected horseman, trainer, and friend to anyone
she meets. Every one of us is in her corner. I'll look forward to
seeing you all there !!
