

NCHA World Championship Futurity Set for Television Broadcast
(Ft. Worth, TX)---The 2000 World Championship NCHA Futurity will be broadcast to a national television audience on the Outdoor Life Network (OLN) on Saturday April 7, 2001 at 12:00 noon (EST), with a re-broadcast on Friday April 13, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. (EST). The one-hour broadcast will feature highlights from the Open Division (won by Kathy Daughn of Weatherford, Texas aboard Royal Fletch) and the Non-Pro Division (won by Lach Perks of Rockford, Illinois riding Stella Starlight).
The 2000 NCHA World Championship Futurity boasted a purse of over $2.8 million, with over 1,500 entries competing in the collective Open, Non-Pro and amateur classes. The Futurity was contested at the Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Ft. Worth, Texas over an 18-day period from November 23 – December, 10, 2000.
The World Championship Futurity marks the first of several televised broadcasts on OLN of major NCHA events. Also scheduled for national television exposure during the month of April is the NCHA/John Deere World Finals from Houston, with air dates Saturday April 14 at 12:00 noon EST and again on Friday April 20 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The NCHA Super Stakes, the NCHA Summer Spectacular and the 2001 NCHA World Championship Futurity will also be broadcast on OLN on dates to be determined.
