National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Recently the NIRA board of directors voted to create a national championship playoff series. The 11 regions of the NIRA will break out into four different regional playoffs. Contestants will qualify for the CNFR through these playoffs. The playoffs are scheduled for May 2001. Thanks to the efforts of the entire Rodeo Family! A steer wrestler from Bakersfield, California had bought the horses. He identified the animals from the notice in the Ropers Sports News and called the Rosser family. College National Finals Rodeo 2001 will be held in Casper, Wyoming, June 11-16th. Originally funded by a federal grant from the US Department of Education, RAWHIDE is now governed by the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Foundation. RAWHIDE works within the college ranks through member schools and coaches. Curriculum for the program include goal-setting workbooks, alcohol abuse informational brochures, motivational videos, wellness and nutrition handbooks, and seminars.
