Eleven Vie for Miss Rodeo Arizona 2001

The Miss Rodeo Arizona 2001 Pageant, in Payson Arizona, will once again provide a great showcase for all Rodeo Royalty and supporters throughout the State, as Eleven young women put their talent on the line to represent Arizona Rodeo and the Western heritage we cherish so dearly. The qualified Contestants are as follows: Leslie Aira from Sierra Vista, Kristina Bane from Sierra Vista, Regina Brown from Showlow, Kate Cox from Gilbert, Christina Davis from Tucson, Maria Gomez from Apache Junction, Joanie Hopman from Prescott, Brooke Kohler from Bullhead City, Shannon Mathis from Peoria, Betsy Rice from Payson, and Denee Thompson from Alpine. These young ladies are to be congratulated for aspiring to Ambassador of Rodeo in Arizona.

Miss Rodeo Arizona Pageant 2001/Rodeo Schedule of Events:

Pageant: Thurs., May 10th through Sun., May 13th

Rodeo: Sat., May 12th (7 p.m.) and Sun., May 13th (1 p.m.)/ Rodeo Information: 520-474-9440

The Pageant's Schedule of Events are as follows: (Open to the Public).

Thurs., May 10th: Horsemanship at 1 p.m. at the Payson Rodeo Arena (This is a correction from previous Schedule of Events Announcement) Steak Fry at 6 p.m. sponsored by the Payson Pro-Rodeo Committee held at Rumsey Park

Fri., May 11th: Dinner: Informal Modeling, Introduction Speech & Extemporaneous Questions at 6 p.m. Apache Tribal Activity Center

Sat., May 12th: Luncheon Fashion Show/State Speech at 12 noon in the Tonto Apache Tribal Activity Center (The Center is located at the Mazatzal Casino Area off of Highway 87) Rodeo Performance at the Payson Rodeo Arena at 7 p.m.

Sun., May 13th: Coronation Brunch/Presentation of Awards & Scholarships-Crowning of Miss Rodeo Arizona 2000 at the Tonto Apache Tribal Activity Center at 9 a.m. - Presentation of Awards & Scholarships/Crowning of Miss Rodeo Az 2001 - Rodeo Performance at the Payson Rodeo Arena at 1 p.m..
