As promised, our April show
dawned on a bright and sunny day, a wonderful judge (Bob Locke), beautiful
horses, exhibitors, families, friends and our great volunteers... what more
could you ask for?
Date Change: Due conflicting schedules, our next show
will be June 9th, Saturday evening, 6 p.m. at WestWorld... please mark your
calendars and come out for a wonderful evening. We will be back in Arenas 5
and 5A at the east end of the park. We wish to congratulate four Daily High Point winners
in the following divisions: Jisella Williams on Magpie (13 and under) with 11
points. First runner up: Jenny Goldberg on Satin N Steel, 2nd runner up:
Sarah Wells on Conclusive Bullet... PS - this was a very closely contested
division. It was great to see so many young riders vying for high point of
the day. Jennifer Autonnen of Fire Zodiac, (14-18) Tina Freimuth on
Rockability (Amateur 19 and over) and Beth Ferris on B Basskiss. The
recipients had their choice of a huge trophy or a gift certificate from Tack
Etcetera. A special thank you to our judge, Bob Locke from Point
West. Bob did an excellent job of judging and was a pleasure to work with. Our volunteers... what on earth would we do without
you? Laurel Batteulo, our favorite ring steward made a return appearance...
much to my relief. Stacey Koepsell, Anne and Madison McKenzie and Lenice
Johnson kept the show running at a brisk pace. Please take an extra minute
the next time you go to a show. These are unpaid volunteers who do a great
service for the horse community... for the love of the horse. Welcome new members: Maj Slade Richard and Louise M. Gandert
of Peoria, Arizona... hope to see you in the show ring next month. Our hearts and prayers go out to Bert and Lenice
Johnson on their loss of Bert's first horse, a 31 year old Morgan gelding,
Select Sammy Allen, affectionately known as "Sammy." It is never
easy to lose a cherished member of our families and the older they are, the
harder we feel the loss. Rest in peace, dear Sammy. Although you are gone,
you will live forever in our hearts. See you June 9th... |
