As April showers brings May's flowers, the onset of term papers and finals, also scent the air. Being a full time student at Northern University, working part time and being Miss Turquoise Circuit, I have learned the art of time management very well. I will need this art to get through college finals and my schedule for May. The month of March ended with a trip to the Renaissance Festival near Apache Junction, Arizona. My brother, Jarrod Listiak, got a job working with the Knights as a squire. His job was to get the horses ready for the jousts, which was held three times a day. It was fun to meet everyone that works at the Horse Pavilion and all the Knights. Good Luck, Jarrod with your new job. The month of April was a bitter sweet one. My good friend, Shannon Mathis, the Cave Creek Fiesta Days Queen passed down her crown. I would like to wish her luck in the future. The good news is the new Miss Cave Creek Fiesta Days Queen is Heather Freeman. The crowd at the Cave Creek parade and rodeo was friendly and a little wild at times, but that's what makes being at the Cave Creek Fiesta Days so much fun. I got to meet and take pictures with Bill William's Mountain Men from Williams, Arizona. They invited me to the Labor Day Rodeo at Williams and I plan on being there. I want to thank Susie for all the help she was to me at the rodeo. I want to send a hearty thank you to the men and women who work the VIP food area, the food was great and the service was excellent. I would like to send a prayer to the cowboys and to their families who were injured during the Cave Creek Rodeos. I wish for a speedy recovery to each of them. The most memorable event I did this month, was to make a commercial for Killman's Kar Korral in Flagstaff, Arizona. I was honored to be asked by the Killman's to make this commercial for them and it was so much fun. I took only 20 takes or maybe it was 30 takes. I know I will never forget the lines. This commercial will help promote the Pine Country Rodeo held in June in Flagstaff. The month of May and June will be very busy for me. I will be completing my finals, moving out of my dorm, and rodeoing all summer long. The Miss Rodeo Arizona Contest and Payson's Spring Rodeo will be held May 10-13, 2001 at Payson, Arizona, and I want to wish all the contestants the best of luck. I am glad that I am not one of the judges for they are going to have a tough job this year, picking Arizona's best. I would like to congratulate Aimee Tewalt on doing such a tremendous job representing Arizona. We are all going to miss her. I hope to see you on the Turquoise Circuit Trail at some of the upcoming events: Safford Cotton and Copper Rodeo, May 5-6, 2001 Miss Rodeo Arizona Contest, Payson, Az, May 10-13, 2001 Globe's Copper Dust Stampede, Globe, Az May 25-27, 2001 Flagstaff's Queen Contest, June 2-3, 2001 Until then, study hard, and Best of luck to everyone on your finals.
