The 2001 Silver Buckle Open Horse Show Series Continues

The Gilbert Parks and Recreation Department Silver Buckle Open Horse Show Series continues Saturday, May 12th, 2001 at Gilbert Rodeo Park (southeast corner of Ray and Val Vista Roads). Registration begins at 4 p.m. with the show starting at 5 p.m. The series offers opportunities for the amateur, as well as the seasoned competitor. Classes are offered in Halter, Showmanship, English and Western.

Ribbons are given for first through sixth place in each class. A certificate for a free class is awarded to the first place finisher in each class. Monthly awards are presented in the following divisions: 9 and under, 13 and under, 14-18 years, Novice and Open. Monthly show high points are tabulated for year-end awards with Montana Silversmith silver belt buckles awarded for first place winners.

The cost is $7 per class if a 4-H, Pony Club or FFA member, with a $4 arena fee. Schooling rounds are $5 each. Admission for spectators is free. Food and beverages are available to purchase. The Silver Buckle Open Horse show series is sponsored by Desert Saddlery, Arizona Recognition Inc., A.C.T. Trophies and Tower Printing.
