Shows don't have to be stodgy,
nerve-jangling affairs. If you doubt this, attend our TWHEA fun show 6 p.m.
July 21 at Westworld. We'll feature a number of light-hearted classes in
addition to the usual fare. Consider the following classes,
which are open to any gaited horse: Pair ClassesYou and a partner
ride, holding a ribbon between you, while performing specific maneuvers at
various gaits. Nervous Novice ClassFor
unabashed scared-cats, here's your class. No professional riders or trainers
may compete in competition designed for children, first-timers, and timid
worried people who want to just see what showing might be like. Sit a BuckIt's not how well you
ride a bucking horse; it's how long you can keep a dollar between your leg
and the saddle while riding at several gaits. The winner gets money. Champagne ClassMaybe you think
you have the smoothest horse in town. Now, you can prove it by holding a
glass of champagne as you ride at various gaits. The person who keeps the
most in his or her glass wins the class. Ice CreamThis isn't competition
at all. It's the delicious ice cream we'll have at the show. Just eat it. Fun shows provide an
opportunity to experience the thrill of horse shows without a lot of hype and
pressure. |
