Appaloosa Art Treasures Re-Emerge

"The Appaloosa" by Orren Mixer

Moscow, ID May 2, 2001 In 1981, Orren Mixer was commissioned by the Appaloosa Horse Club to create in art form the standard of the Appaloosa breed. The result was an amazing piece of artwork named "The Appaloosa." The ApHC quickly sold out of the large prints on canvas and the limited edition, signed and numbered prints. Recently, Mr. Mixer found a box containing 122 of 125 signed and numbered artists proofs that he had put back for his own use and has agreed to release them to the ApHC.

The opportunity to own one of Orren's masterpieces is coveted by many and over the years, there have been countless requests for this limited art treasure. Only 122 proofs are available and the ApHC is holding back numbers 1-10 and number 100 to be auctioned off in the future with proceeds benefiting the Youth Association. The remaining proofs will be sold at the 54th National Appaloosa Show/World Championship Appaloosa Youth Show in Oklahoma City, Okla., June 25 through July 7. Any remaining proofs will be returned to the ApHC for continued sales until they are gone and at that point, they are simply no longer available.

This is the final offering of this Appaloosa standard and is available for $150.00 plus shipping. If you are interested in purchasing a proof, but will not be able to attend the show, you may telephone the ApHC at 208-882-5578 ext.225 or email at procollection@appaloosa.com and with an approved credit card payment, we will ship one to you after the show. The proofs are available on a first come first serve basis and numbers will not be guaranteed.
